I have received several questions about toothpaste I use recently.
This home-made toothpaste idea is originally from my grandfather, who had zero cavity and shiny white teeth until he passed away at 79 years old.
I still remember that my grandfather was using a natural sea salt as a toothpaste because it was a bit weird to me at that time.
but he kept telling me that this is the best way to keep the teeth healthy forever.
He was not even really "brushing" his teeth! It was more like massaging his gum with a natural sea salt.
Anyway, my home-made toothpaste is very simple, very eco-friendly, and very low price!
You only need these two ingredients: Bamboo charcoal and natural sea salt (MUST BE natural sea salt! Please check the ingredients as well! )
I also use this master seed glass bin as a toothpaste case because the small hole is going to help me not to splash the charcoal all over the place and it is very easy to place the toothpaste on my tooth brush.
How do I make the toothpaste?
Well, you just need to add 1 tablespoon sea salt into the container and add 1-2 teaspoon bamboo charcoal. I will shake the bin with a lid on a bit to make sure it is really mixed well.
I would say if you do not want toothpaste to be too powdery, 1 and 1/2 teaspoon of charcoal should be enough.
So this is it!
Pretty simple, right?
Your kids can use this without any problem because everything is simply edible.
If you are concerned about the amount of salt, please research about the natural sea salt.
Also, you can simply use only bamboo charcoal as well.
Happy Simple Life! 🙂
